Battersea Park’s Trainer, Helen Stathy, has been involved in training puppies and dogs for over 20 years.
Helen’s experience spans a professional dog training career including quarantine detection dogs, assistance and service dogs for people with physical disabilities, autism dogs, medical alert dogs, PTSD dogs, sports dogs (agility, obedience and rally-o), animal actors and puppy assessments.
Helen also managed the Pups in Prison Program, Breeding Program and Puppy Raising Program Australia-wide for Assistance Dogs Australia. She also managed the Detector Dog Unit for the Chevron Gorgon Project on Barrow Island WA.
Having successfully trained various breeds (including Papillon, Dalmatian, Border Collie, Labrador, Greyhound, Golden Retriever, Belgian Malinois and mix breeds) in competitive dog sports (Agility, Obedience, Rally Obedience & Herding), Conformation Showing, Assistance/Service Dog roles and various Acting roles for television commercials and newspaper advertisements, Helen has extensive knowledge in animal training and learning theory.

She currently competes in Agility at Masters Level with her own young Belgian Malinois who excelled in his first year of competition in 2016 going from novice to masters class in just nine months! Stay tuned for updates on her new young girl in training!!!

Using humane, force free techniques Helen enjoys helping people to learn how to understand and communicate with their dogs in a conflict free manner … ultimately creating a better relationship and life for both together.
